RELINQUISHING a pet
Relinquishing ownership of a pet is a difficult decision. MNBR coordinators are available to provide you with information and advice in case of specific issues or to walk you through the process if the decision to sign over ownership is reached. We are not able to guarantee placement until an intake interview can be performed. Each case will be reviewed and available foster homes assessed before a determination can be made.
MNBR is a foster-based rescue which means we do not have a central location, but are a network of foster homes and volunteers. Each hound that comes into our care goes into one of our approved foster homes and MNBR, through donations and adoption fees, provides financial support for their health and well-being until we can help them find their forever home. Potential adopters must go through an approval and match-making process to ensure the match is a proper fit for all parties involved. Once the dog is part of the MNBR family, they are a member for life, and if at any time they need to be relinquished back to us they will be welcomed with open arms.
Please fill out our Surrender Questionnaire to be contacted for an interview.
Thank you for taking the time to fill out the surrender form. Although there is no mandatory fee for surrendering your pet, there are suggested donation amounts as we will be taking on financial responsibility for the health and care of your animal once they are accepted into the rescue. These expenses include food, basic care items and vet expenses. We require that all of our animals be fully vetted and spayed/neutered before adoption as well. MNBR has the right to refuse any application at our discretion and no portion of your donation will be refunded. Thank you for your understanding.
